New Delhi, Aug. 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Delhi after hoisting the national flag, marking India's 79th Independence Day today, 15 August.
Narendra Modi's speech, which started at 7:30 AM, lasted about 100 minutes and is perhaps his longest-ever speech on Independence Day.
This was PM Narendra Modi's first Independence Day address from Red Fort after Operation Sindoor - India's precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan in May this year, in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April.
