Mumbai Monorail News, Aug. 19 -- At least 14 passengers got suffocated out of the 442 rescued in the Mumbai Monorail train that came to a halt due to an apparent power failure, officials said on Tuesday.
The 14 suffocated passengers were treated onsite by doctors onboard the ambulances that came for the rescue operations, while one person was rushed to the Sion Hospital, an ambulance coordinator said.
The condition of the passenger sent to the hospital, a 20-year-old woman, is stable, Sion officials said.
The Monorail came to a halt due to a suspected power failure between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park stations in Mumbai amid heavy rains on Tuesday evening.
