New Delhi, Jan. 5 -- Former Jawaharlal Nehru Uuniversity (JNU) scholar Umar Khalid reacted to denial of bail by Supreme Court of India in the 2020 Delhi riots case. Khalid, who has been in jail since 13 September 2020, admitted that this is how his life is now.

The Supreme Court on Monday denied bail to student activists, Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, in their alleged 'larger conspiracy' role in the 2020 Delhi riots case.

"I am really happy for the others, who got bail! So relieved", Umar told his partner Banojyotsna Lahiri who put out portions of her conversation with Umar on X.
