NOIDA, July 15 -- The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) more than doubled its revenue during the first quarter of the current financial year, earning Rs 1,371.75 crore by June 30 compared with Rs 640.01 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering a 114.33 per cent increase.
The financial performance was presented at YEIDA's 91st board meeting, chaired by Alok Kumar, chairman of the authority and additional chief secretary, industrial development department, on Wednesday.
The authority's expenditure also rose sharply to Rs 2,101.96 crore from Rs 944.80 crore a year earlier, with Rs 1,741.40 crore spent on land acquisition. Officials said industrial and mixed land-use schemes generated Rs 660.14 crore, nearly 47.5 per cent of the annual target for the category.
The board approved the development of an Industrial Node on the Agra side of the upcoming Noida International Airport to attract manufacturing and logistics investments. It also reviewed a proposal to develop the YEIDA International Trade City, modelled on China's Yiwu International Trade City, as a global wholesale and export hub.
The board also reviewed progress across industrial parks, including MSME, Handicraft, Toy, Apparel and Medical Device parks. It approved the allotment of 30 acres in Sector 9 to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for advanced research facilities, earmarked Rs 50 crore to strengthen fire safety infrastructure in high-rise buildings, and cleared the allotment of 200 square metres to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) for a scientific solid waste management facility.
