Greater Noida, Oct. 20 -- The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has initiated the process of acquiring land for a 5-km road connecting Sector 22E with Phaileda Cut, aimed at improving access to Noida International Airport from several sectors on the eastern side of the Yamuna Expressway.
The proposed road will connect the 120-metre-wide road in Sector 22E to the airport connectivity corridor of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Phaileda Cut. The project is expected to benefit around 13 planned sectors, improving access to the airport for residents, students and people working in industrial and institutional areas.
Sector 22E, designated as an institutional zone where several private universities and educational institutions are being developed, is among the key areas expected to benefit. The road is also expected to strengthen connectivity between residential and industrial sectors within YEIDA's jurisdiction.
The 120-metre-wide road forms a key part of YEIDA's planned road network on the eastern side of the Yamuna Expressway. It is designed to run from the Salapur underpass towards the proposed Khurja-Palwal Expressway, strengthening links with major regional routes. Around 8 km of the road between the Salapur underpass and Sector 22E has already been constructed. However, land disputes have left some stretches incomplete. YEIDA is working to complete these pending sections while pursuing land acquisition for the additional road towards Phaileda Cut.
"Land is being acquired for the road. Once it is completed, the industrial, institutional and residential sectors on the eastern side will have better connectivity to Noida International Airport," said Rajendra Bhati, general manager (planning), YEIDA.
The project is expected to improve access to Sectors 24, 24A, 25, 22A to 22F and 23A to 23E.
YEIDA is also planning to connect its 120-metre-wide and 130-metre-wide roads with the Khurja-Palwal Expressway. These links are expected to strengthen peripheral connectivity and improve movement between sectors across the region.
