Kolkata, July 8 -- The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) on Tuesday published the Round 1 seat allotment results for admissions to undergraduate engineering, technology and architecture courses in government, government-aided and self-financing institutions across the state.

Candidates who registered for the counselling process can check their allotment status on the official counselling portal using their application number and password. The provisional seat allotment letter is also available for download.

Candidates allotted a seat for the first time must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs 5,000 online and report to their allotted institution for physical document verification and admission by July 11. Failure to pay the fee or complete the verification process within the stipulated period will result in cancellation of the allotment.

The allotment has been prepared on the basis of candidates' WBJEE rank, choices filled during counselling, category and seat availability in participating institutions. According to officials, this year's counselling has received a stronger response than last year. They said a majority of seats in government engineering colleges and universities were allotted in the first round, while private engineering colleges also reported a significant increase in first-round allotments compared with the previous year.

Fresh registration and choice filling for Round 2 will be held from July 13 to July 17, while the second round of seat allotment results will be announced on July 21.
