Kolkata, May 11 -- A major reshuffle has taken place within the Education Department immediately following the change of government. Ramanuj Ganguly, the President of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education-who was appointed during the Trinamool regime-has reportedly resigned from his post.

Alongside Ganguly, Siddhartha Majumdar, the Chairman of the School Service Commission (SSC) has also reportedly tendered his resignation. They have submitted their resignation letters to the Secretary of the Department of School Education, as reported by a vernacular news channel.

Earlier, on Sunday, the SSC had also published the scanned images of OMR sheets recovered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for candidates who appeared in the 2016 selection process for assistant teachers of Classes IX-X and XI-XII. The commission said the OMR images available in hard disk drives received from the CBI had been uploaded in compliance with court directions. It added that OMR sheets of candidates who appeared in the 3rd Regional Level Selection Test (Non-Teaching), 2016, for Group C and Group D posts would be uploaded shortly.

The developments raised concerns over the publication of the Higher Secondary results scheduled for 10.30 am on May 14. WBCHSE secretary Priyadarshini Mallick said the council had informed the department that immediate resignations by the council president and secretary before the publication of results could create legal complications for nearly eight lakh students.

However, HS examination results may still be published on May 14.
