Lucknow, May 16 -- Industries across Uttar Pradesh are facing mounting pressure due to rising production costs and disruption in gas supply, prompting the state govt to consider emergency measures to prevent large-scale impact on employment and industrial output.
The issue was discussed in a high-level meeting of the labour department, where officials reviewed the growing difficulties being faced by manufacturing units and industrial establishments dependent on gas-based operations.
To reduce energy consumption and provide relief to industrial units, the government has decided to introduce a work from home system for two days every week in selected sectors and offices. Officials said the move is aimed at lowering power and fuel consumption while ensuring continuity of operations.
