Moradabad, May 15 -- In a rare and high-risk pregnancy case, a 31-year-old woman from Obri village in Sambhal district gave birth to four babies through normal delivery at TMU Hospital in Moradabad.

Doctors said the case was unusual because quadruplet pregnancies are generally handled through cesarean delivery due to serious risks to both the mother and babies. Despite complications, all four children were delivered normally and are under medical supervision along with the mother.

Amina was admitted to the hospital on May 8 after developing labour pain. On May 9, she delivered her first baby boy, weighing around 710 grams. At that time, the pregnancy was estimated to be around six-and-a-half to seven months.

Doctors managed to control the situation and delayed the delivery of the remaining babies. The mother remained under constant treatment and observation for the next five days.

On May 14, Amina again developed labour pain and delivered another baby boy and two girls.

Doctors said the case was particularly rare because all four babies were growing in separate sacs inside the womb. The condition was identified during an ultrasound examination in the second month of pregnancy when doctors confirmed the presence of four fetuses.

During pregnancy, Amina also suffered from liver-related complications and blood pressure issues. Her condition reportedly worsened several times, requiring repeated hospitalisation. Family members brought her to the hospital every 15 to 20 days for regular check-ups and treatment.

According to the hospital administration, all four newborns are currently under observation. One of the babies is stable and normal, while two others require special medical care. The first baby born is being fed with the mother's milk and is said to be stable.
