
New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and G. Kishan Reddy, along with Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, participated in cleanliness drives in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area on Thursday as part of the "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" initiative under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.
Rijiju joined the shramdaan programme at Navyug School on Peshwa Road near Gole Market along with NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi. Students, teachers and residents participated in the drive, which was followed by a tree plantation programme.
Reddy participated in a cleanliness drive at Yashwant Singh Place in Chanakyapuri along with senior officials of the Ministry of Coal and Mines. He interacted with NDMC sanitation workers and felicitated them for their contribution to maintaining cleanliness.
Meanwhile, Parvesh Sahib Singh inaugurated NDMC's largest community toilet facility at Jodhpur Mess on Pandara Road. Built at a cost of about Rs 1 crore with NBCC's CSR support, the facility has separate sections for men and women, CCTV cameras and other provisions for hygiene and safety. Singh also participated in a shramdaan programme at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place and appealed to devotees to maintain cleanliness around the temple.
The NDMC Health Department, in collaboration with the Delhi Police and CRPF, organised a cleanliness drive at the National Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri. About 120 participants took part, removing nearly 300 kg of waste and silt from the memorial, Pt. Uma Shankar Dixit Marg and adjoining areas.
