New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- Two taxi drivers allegedly involved in drug deliveries and a 43-year-old Nigerian national have been arrested in north Delhi, with police recovering cocaine, heroin and MDMA from them, officials said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Acche Babu (25), from Farrukhabad, Zahid (22), from Shahjahanpur, both in Uttar Pradesh, and Cajethan Chukwujekwu (43), a Mehrauli resident.

Acting on a tip-off on October 12, police arrested Acche Babu near a foot overbridge on Ring Road in Kashmere Gate and later apprehended Zahid from a nearby car. They recovered 16.4 grams of cocaine and 90 grams of heroin.

During interrogation, the two allegedly revealed that Cajethan had initially hired their taxi before involving them in drug deliveries. Police arrested him in Mehrauli on October 13, recovering another 5.7 grams of cocaine and 15.3 grams of MDMA.

Police said the drivers coordinated deliveries according to their availability. A taxi allegedly used for transporting drugs was seized.

Raids are underway to trace another Nigerian national, identified as Ameka, and establish the source of the contraband. An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act.
