Kolkata, Sept. 25 -- The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has warned teachers against unknown persons allegedly approaching them with improper offers to facilitate transfers and clarified that the commission has no involvement in any such activity.
In a public notice issued on September 24, the commission said it had received information that unknown persons were contacting teachers with "indecent proposals" for getting their transfers approved.
The WBSSC clarified that it is the "recommending authority" in such transfer cases, while the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is the authority responsible for sanctioning and issuing the transfer orders.
"WBSSC has no involvement with any of such unlawful endeavour directly or indirectly," the notice said. The commission advised teachers who receive any such improper proposal to lodge complaints immediately with the appropriate authorities. Meanwhile, the WBSSC's Eastern Region has announced the distribution of undistributed TET certificates of 2011.
