Kolkata, May 17 -- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday visited the residence of his slain aide Chandranath Rath in East Midnapore and assured the bereaved family that justice would be delivered in the murder case.
Adhikari reached Chandranath's ancestral home in the Chandipur area during the latter's shraddha ceremony, 11 days after he was shot dead in Madhyamgram in North 24-Parganas.
The Chief Minister offered floral tributes to Chandranath's photograph and spent time with family members, including his mother Hasirani Rath. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Hasirani said the Chief Minister became emotional while consoling the family and assured them that the guilty would receive the strictest punishment.
