Kolkata, Nov. 3 -- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is expected to hold a special review meeting at the Panchayat department on Wednesday to accelerate the implementation of the 125-day employment scheme in the state.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 am to review the progress made in implementing the 125-day employment scheme, also known as the VB-G RAMJI project. The Chief Minister will review the progress of the project.

Nabanna sources said that Wednesday's meeting is likely to include a detailed district-wise assessment of the work undertaken so far. Adhikari will focus on the work completed in each district and areas where progress has been slow.

The Chief Minister is also expected to examine the challenges affecting implementation and possible measures to resolve them. Panchayat and Rural Development minister Dilip Ghosh, senior department officials, and officers responsible for overseeing the scheme in various districts will also attend the meeting.

Adhikari recently held a review meeting with the secretaries of various departments at Nabanna. During the meeting, he raised several questions regarding the progress of the 125-day employment scheme.

He also pointed out that work under the project was not progressing as expected in several districts of the state. He instructed the Panchayat and Rural Development Department to take necessary steps to accelerate its implementation.

Adhikari had particularly emphasised the need for greater involvement at the block level to ensure effective implementation of the scheme. He also observed that some Block Development Officers (BDOs) were not giving adequate importance to the project.

Adhikari even indicated that the concerned BDOs could be transferred if necessary. At the same time, he directed officials to launch extensive awareness campaigns so that more people in rural areas could benefit from the scheme.
