New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were injured after a Mahindra Thar Roxx allegedly rammed into their vehicle on the Dwarka Expressway on Saturday night and fled the spot.
The incident was captured on the dashboard camera of a car travelling behind the SUV, according to police. The footage purportedly shows the Thar Roxx changing lanes from the left-side service lane and attempting to overtake the car and motorcycle.
The SUV allegedly accelerated through a gap between the two vehicles and struck the motorcycle, throwing both riders off the road. Both were wearing helmets and sustained minor injuries, according to an NDTV report. The SUV driver allegedly fled without stopping.
Police later traced the vehicle's registration number. Details on the eChallan Parivahan portal showed a pending Rs 5,000 fine for rash driving and jumping a red light, issued on August 3.
The incident comes amid other reported Thar-related crashes in the NCR.
