New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- The Delhi Police's Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) on Tuesday concluded a six-day self-defence training programme for around 500 NCC cadets at the NCC Headquarters in Safdarjung Enclave.
Held from October 1 to 6, the programme focused on personal safety, situational awareness, preventive measures, confidence-building and appropriate responses during emergencies.
Three SPUWAC personnel provided practical training to the cadets, who demonstrated the techniques they had learnt during the closing ceremony.
The initiative comes amid concerns over sexual violence against women in Delhi, with several cases reported in the city in recent days. mpost
