New Delhi, May 25 -- Students associated with the School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, have alleged unequal treatment in comparison to regular college students, raising concerns over delays in academic processes and limited access to institutional facilities.
According to student representatives, learners enrolled in the open learning system frequently face delays in examination schedules and declaration of results. They also claimed that study material is often not provided on time, affecting academic preparation for a large number of students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The students further alleged that SOL candidates do not receive equal access to facilities such as libraries, counselling services, placement support, and other academic resources available to regular college students. Concerns were also raised regarding confusion during admission procedures and examination-related processes, which students said creates unnecessary stress and uncertainty.
Student groups urged Delhi University to ensure equal treatment and timely support for over four lakh SOL students, saying the institution plays a vital role in expanding access to higher education for diverse socio-economic groups, including working professionals and non-regular learners.
