Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- India's BRICS presidency offers the Global South a greater voice in shaping the emerging world order, said former foreign secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Wednesday, while speaking at a seminar on the BRICS Summit in the city.
At the seminar titled "India and BRICS: The Way Ahead", Shringla underlined the potential to promote a more representative and multipolar global system. Drawing on his diplomatic experience, he discussed the evolving geopolitical landscape and the challenges and opportunities before BRICS as its membership and influence expand. Shringla also released a book, "BRICS as a Global Alternative: Prospects and Concerns for India". UK Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Alexander Fleming also addressed the gathering.
