India, June 23 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Monday certified Sangli Apartments at Copernicus Marg as the eighth residential area to receive the "Anupam Colony" designation under its zero-waste and sustainability initiative aimed at promoting environmentally conscious neighbourhoods. NDMC Chairperson Keshav Chandra unveiled the certification plaque and described the recognition as a milestone in advancing community-led environmental action and sustainable urban living. Addressing residents and officials, Chandra said the achievement reflected active public participation and demonstrated how sustainable practices could be integrated into daily life. Sangli Apartments achieved 100 per cent waste segregation, on-site composting and scientific waste processing, becoming the first defence officers' colony to earn NDMC's 'Anupam Colony' certification.
