Kolkata, June 9 -- Speculation is growing over a possible visual transformation of the Bengal government's administrative headquarters, Nabanna, after the familiar blue-and-white colour scheme of Nabanna Sabhaghar began giving way to saffron and white. The first coat of saffron paint was applied to the auditorium adjacent to the main Nabanna building on Tuesday during an auspicious period known as "Amrit Yog".

The development has sparked discussions in political and administrative circles, with many viewing it as a symbolic reflection of the new government's approach. Since assuming office, the administration has stressed greater efficiency, quicker disposal of files and stronger coordination with the Centre. The blue-and-white colour scheme was introduced across West Bengal by the former government led by Mamata Banerjee after 2011.

The shift to saffron and white at Nabanna has reignited debate over political symbolism in public spaces and architecture.
