India, Aug. 8 -- Delhi Police has recovered 390 stolen and snatched mobile phones worth around Rs 1.5 crore, 66 stolen two-wheelers and apprehended 23 people, including two juveniles, during a 72-hour anti-crime drive, an official said on Friday. Police said that they also recovered illegal firearms and jewellery worth Rs 62 lakh. "In a major breakthrough, a team has unearthed a network dealing in stolen and snatched mobile phones," a senior police officer said. According to the police, with 66 seizures, the highest number of stolen mobile phones was recovered by Subhash Nagar police station, followed by Anti-Burglary cell, 54 and Jahangir police station, 46. Also Read - Narela: Merc-car crash kills woman pedestrian The officer said that the team has arrested two alleged burglars, both listed as bad characters of Subhash Place police station, along with three alleged receivers of stolen mobile phones. Police also arrested the mother of one of the accused after finding that she had allegedly pledged stolen gold ornaments with a gold loan company using her identity documents. The operation led to the recovery of 54 stolen and snatched mobile phones, gold and silver jewellery worth around Rs 12 lakh, Rs 65,000 in cash, a motorcycle used in the crime and pledged gold ornaments, while 22 cases of theft and snatching were worked out, police said. A country-made pistol, a live cartridge, a knife, a stolen mobile phone and a stolen scooter were recovered from their possession. The duo has a combined involvement in 32 criminal cases, police said. She said that another team arrested an alleged habitual offender and parole jumper who was found riding a stolen scooty. Police recovered five stolen two-wheelers and five stolen mobile phones at his instance. He was allegedly involved in over 30 criminal cases and had failed to surrender after being released on parole. A team from Mukherjee Nagar police solved two vehicle theft cases by apprehending two juveniles after analysing CCTVs and recovering two stolen motorcycles from them, they said. In another operation, Bharat Nagar police arrested an alleged bad character and recovered a country-made pistol with a live cartridge, seven stolen mobile phones and four stolen two-wheelers from his possession.
