Kolkata, Sept. 16 -- Bidhannagar City Police on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against former Trinamool Congress councillor of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, Debraj Chakraborty, at Barasat court.

It is the third chargesheet filed against the TMC leader. The 1,500-page chargesheet also names his wife, popular singer Aditi Munshi.

In the chargesheet, the police have mentioned an alleged Rs 100-crore empire built on institutional extortion, illegal land grabbing, fraud, and syndicate operations.

In the chargesheet, it has been mentioned that over Rs 10 crore in black money extorted from real estate developers in the Baguiati and Kestopur areas was initially funnelled into a bank account linked to the TMC Youth wing, where the TMC leader was a primary signatory. The funds were subsequently rerouted into the accounts of private firm Leaps and Bounds. The chargesheet contains statements of 35 witnesses. Police through the legal document, also alleged that after the bail plea of Chakraborty was rejected, he transferred several properties.
