
New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- The Delhi Police's Outer District team took strict action and filed 20 cases and arrested 23 people in a special drive against illegal activities in 24 hours. According to the police, the police teams recovered illicit liquor, ganja, and cash believed to be used for gambling. The drive aims to tackle and stop organised crime and unlawful activities throughout the region.
Police personnel were instructed to remain on high alert and step up patrols, checkpoints, and surveillance operations.
As per the police, the teams filed 12 cases under the Delhi Excise Act, five cases under the Gambling Act, and three cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act during the special drive.
They also recovered 756 quarters of illicit liquor, 260.4 grams of ganja and 17,390 rupees in cash found in possession of gamblers.
Eight accused were arrested under the Gambling Act by the police during patrolling and surveillance in connection with five cases registered at Rani Bagh, Mangolpuri, Raj Park, Nihal Vihar and Paschim Vihar West police stations.
