New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- The sources from the government confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conducting a two-day Chintan Shivir of the Council of Ministers, which will be held from Wednesday, September 23 and 24 at Seva Teerth, here in New Delhi.

The purpose of the Shivir will be to assess the performance of the government till now and then discuss the plans of reforms, ideas, and priorities towards the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.

Viksit Bharat@2047 is a vision of the Modi government to develop the country as a developed nation by 2047, which will be the centenary of the country's independence.

The vision aims at the development of the nation in all sectors like economic growth, social development, infrastructure, technology, governance, and human capital, to enhance the quality of life of citizens. The process of making this roadmap was started back in 2021 through the constitution of 10 sectoral groups of secretaries for preparing the Vision@2047 and strategies.

This is taking place as the Modi government enters the next stage of its third tenure and is likely to give a platform to the ministers to deliberate on important initiatives and how these could be implemented.

According to the government officials, the session is going to deliberate on governance, ease of living, reducing compliances and other reforms that are needed for making the government more efficient. The inputs received from Groups of Secretaries, ministries and departments, Cabinet Secretariat and NITI Aayog would be discussed.

Viksit Bharat campaign was launched in 2021 when the ten Sectoral Groups of Secretaries were formed for preparing Vision@2047 and formulating a roadmap for the same. Consultations were also made with stakeholders in various sectors.

Since then, there have been eight such presentations and discussions on various facets of the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision by the Council of Ministers. The next Chintan Shivir will take forward the efforts made in this regard, with the scope of discussion having been broadened now to also include reviewing and improving upon implementation of the vision, along with priority areas for the next phase.
