
New Delhi, May 25 -- The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on May 20, 2026 organised the APY Annual Felicitation Programme in New Delhi, recognising top performers under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) for 2025-26.
Awards were presented to 53 APY service providers, 10 State Level Bankers' Committees (SLBCs), and leading branches and Lead District Managers.
Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju said APY has crossed 9 crore gross enrolments, with assets under management (AUM) exceeding Rs 54,000 crore. A record 1.35 crore subscribers were added during 2025-26. He stressed the need to improve subscriber persistency, financial literacy and outreach in the urban informal sector.
PFRDA Chairperson S Ramann highlighted the growing importance of retirement planning and said APY recorded its highest-ever annual enrolment during the year. He noted rising participation among the 18-25 age group, indicating greater awareness about long-term financial security. PFRDA Whole Time Member Mamta Shankar said women's participation under APY touched a record 55.14 per cent in 2025-26.
As of May 18, 2026, total APY enrolments stood at 9.10 crore across all states and Union Territories.
Among banks, SBI, Union Bank of India and UCO Bank exceeded annual targets in the public sector category, while IDBI Bank led private banks. Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank and Tripura Gramin Bank topped the regional rural bank
segment.
