KOLKATA, July 31 -- Peerless Group has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark in FY26. The Kolkata-headquartered business conglomerate has also expanded its hospital network to more than 1,000 beds across Kolkata, Guwahati and Barasat.

Announcing these achievements at the centrally located Peerless Hotel in Kolkata on Friday, Managing Director Jayanta Roy said Peerless Hospital now has 1,016 licensed beds, making it the largest 'Swadeshi' healthcare chain in eastern India.

Roy said the 94-year-old company, which embarked on a transformation journey in 2022, faced a challenging FY26 but continued to move forward.

"The group's revenue reached Rs 1,013 crore in FY26, crossing the Rs 1,000 crore milestone envisioned at the start of the transformation journey. The revenue was Rs 530 crore in FY22," Roy said.

He added that by FY26, the group had invested Rs 900 crore out of the nearly Rs 1,300 crore committed towards hospitals and real estate projects.

"If we want to grow, we will have to invest. And if we have to invest, we have to navigate interest and depreciation costs. Our view is that the sooner we invest, the better. There is also a change in the climate with Bengal's economic resurgence under the vision of Viksit Bangla 2047," he said.

Before the transformation phase (FY14-FY19), the group's revenue grew at an annual rate of 4 per cent, while profits declined by 11 per cent. Since 2022, revenue has grown at 18 per cent, while profits have increased by 16 per cent annually.

"In FY25, the group's revenue was Rs 800 crore. So, we believe we have managed to grow quite well," said Director Supriyo Sinha.

Meanwhile, the group has launched a new hospital unit in Kolkata, SRIOS. Its hospital network now comprises 1,016 licensed beds, up from around 400 a few years ago, spread across Kolkata (666 beds), Guwahati (250) and Barasat (100). The number of OPD rooms has also increased from 46 to 108.

Roy also announced that construction of Trayam, the group's mixed-use development in New Town, Kolkata, is progressing at full pace, with 41 of the 71 residential units already sold.

Sinha said Peerless Hotels has more than doubled its revenue since FY22, from Rs 39 crore to Rs 89 crore.

He expects the hospitality business to grow by 10-11 per cent in the next financial year, while the healthcare segment is projected to expand by 14-15 per cent.

In FY26, the group's hospital business generated Rs 440 crore in revenue, with the Kolkata unit alone contributing Rs 420 crore.

The group aims to raise hospital revenue to Rs 500 crore in the next financial year.

Roy said the group's social initiatives remain equally important.

Chairman Partha Sarathi Bhattacharya mentioned that the Peerless Skill Academy increased its cumulative student enrolment from 7,567 to 22,290.

Looking ahead, Roy said the focus will be on consolidating existing operations and completing the planned investments. The group is also looking forward to the new industrial policy that the West Bengal government is expected to unveil in August.
