New Delhi, Nov. 6 -- The Delhi Police has approved monetary relief for personnel injured while maintaining law and order during various operations in 2026, with Rs 25,000 for those sustaining grievous injuries and Rs 15,000 for other serious injuries.

Commissioner of Police Anurag Kumar approved the assistance under the Delhi Police Welfare Society Fund. District Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) can also submit proposals for financial assistance in deserving special cases.

More than 250 personnel have been injured during various law and order arrangements in the national capital this year.

The decision aims to provide timely assistance and recognise the contribution of personnel injured in the line of duty.

In 2023, the Delhi Police launched the 'Ahat Veer Samman Patra' scheme to acknowledge personnel injured while handling riots, protests and arresting criminals. The department also runs welfare initiatives for personnel and their families.
