India, Aug. 25 -- The National Security Guard (NSG) Training Academy in Manesar has launched the first Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC) for women personnel from state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), aimed at strengthening their operational role in counter-terrorism. The 12-week residential course will train participants in specialised counter-terrorism skills and prepare them for demanding operational assignments. The rigorous programme includes physical fitness, weapons training, tactical intervention, hostage rescue and other counter-terrorism modules. The NSG said the initiative would expand the pool of trained women personnel available for counter-terrorism operations and strengthen coordination between state and central security agencies. On completion of the course, the women personnel will return to their respective forces, carrying enhanced operational skills and expertise.
