
New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE) has fixed the price band for its IPO at Rs 1,700-Rs 1,785 per equity share of face value Rs 1. The issue will open on September 17, 2026 and close on September 21, 2026. Investors can bid for a minimum of 8 shares and in multiples of 8 thereafter.
NSE has 2,475,000,000 equity shares outstanding.
The IPO is an offer-for-sale of up to 126,436,650 shares by State Bank of India, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Aranda Investments (Mauritius) Pte Ltd, MS Strategic (Mauritius) Ltd, The New India Assurance Company Ltd, SBI Capital Markets Limited, Bank of Baroda, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, General Insurance Corporation of India Limited and United India Insurance Company Limited.
The book-built issue reserves no more than 50 per cent for Qualified Institutional Buyers, not less than 15 per cent for Non-Institutional Investors and not less than 35 per cent for Retail Individual Investors.
NSE, which began operations in 1994, was India's first exchange to implement electronic trading. It is the world's largest derivatives exchange by trading volume for calendar year 2025, according to FIA, and ranked third globally in equity segment trades in 2025, according to WFE.
According to the Redseer Report, NSE has been India's largest exchange by cash-market and equity-derivatives turnover from Fiscal 20011 to Fiscal 2026 and the three months ended June 30, 2026.
It was also the largest in exchange-traded currency derivatives from Fiscal 20092 to Fiscal 2026 and the three months ended June 30, 2026. NSE had global market shares of 11.38 per cent in cash-equity trades and 51.18 per cent in equity-derivative contracts in Fiscal 2026, and 10.68 per cent and 50.22 per cent, respectively, in the three months ended June 30, 2026.
Its Unique Registered Investors grew at a CAGR of 26.23 per cent from 30.87 million as of March 31, 2020 to 132.37 million as of June 30, 2026. Market capitalisation of listed entities grew at a CAGR of 25.89 per cent over the same period.
Total Fund Mobilisation through its platform was Rs 6.19 trillion in the three months ended June 30, 2026 and Rs 20.33 trillion in Fiscal 2026. As of June 30, 2026, NSE had 261.36 million registered investor accounts, 1,328 trading members, 132.37 million Unique Registered Investors and 3,005 listed entities, with market capitalisation of Rs 474.08 trillion.
NSE's market share in Fiscal 2026 and the three months ended June 2026 was 92.99 per cent and 93.05 per cent in cash markets, 99.79 per cent and 99.72 per cent in equity futures, 74.71 per cent and 68.48 per cent in equity options, 99.48 per cent and 100.00 per cent in currency futures, and 100.00 per cent and 100.00 per cent in currency options. Its corporate-bond market share was 85.65 per cent and 81.15 per cent, respectively.
NSE's platform processed an average of 12.46 billion messages daily between April 1, 2024 and June 30, 2026. It processed a peak 21.89 billion order messages on March 24, 2026, when 201.00 million trades were executed. On June 4, 2024, it processed 293.85 million trades in a single day. The platform can process nearly 5 million messages per second with microsecond response time.
NSE enabled equity capital mobilisation of over Rs 1.29 trillion and Rs 4.78 trillion in the three months ended June 30, 2026 and Fiscal 2026, respectively.
Its revenue from operations rose to Rs 4,560 crore in the June 2026 quarter from Rs 4,032 crore a year earlier, while net profit increased to Rs 3,121 crore from Rs 2,811 crore.
Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Ltd and 19 other institutions are book-running lead managers, while MUFG Intime India Pvt Ltd is the registrar.
