India, Aug. 5 -- The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) has launched a real-time portal and mobile app to make India's organ transplant system more transparent, efficient and equitable. The platform will create a nationwide waiting list, provide real-time updates on recipients and allow hospitals and state bodies to raise "super urgent" requests. It will also enable organ allocation tracking, donor matching and recording of transplant outcomes. India recorded 20,138 organ transplants in 2025, including 16,612 from living donors and 3,526 from deceased donors.
