Noida, Nov. 6 -- The Noida Authority is planning to construct a flyover between Sectors 150 and 148 along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to improve connectivity to residential and developing sectors in the area. Estimated to cost Rs 84.16 crore, the project is expected to provide commuters travelling from Delhi, Ghaziabad and other parts of Noida with a more direct route to Sector 150 and its adjoining areas.
The detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed flyover has been prepared and is being sent to IIT Roorkee for technical scrutiny. Officials said the construction process would proceed after the institute examines the design and submits its recommendations. The authority has set an estimated completion period of 18 months.
The flyover will be built using a network arch-type bridge design, with no central pillar or support beneath its main span. The 65-metre-long span will cross the expressway without requiring a central support.
According to the project details, the structure will have a total length of 610 metres and a width of 9.5 metres.
This will include 545 metres of approach roads and ramps connecting the flyover to the existing road network. The project has been estimated to cost Rs 84.16 crore.
Currently, motorists travelling from Delhi, Ghaziabad and other parts of Noida towards Sector 150 have to rely on the existing road network, as there is no direct access route to the area. The proposed flyover is expected to provide dedicated connectivity, making the commute more convenient for residents and other road users.
The project is also expected to ease traffic movement around Sector 150 and neighbouring sectors, which have witnessed growing development and an increase in vehicular movement.
