
New Delhi, May 14 -- In a major administrative reshuffle in the Delhi Police, the Delhi Government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and posting of nine Special Commissioners of Police with immediate effect following recommendations made by the Police Establishment Board.
The order, approved by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, was issued by the Home Department of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
According to the official notification, 1994-batch IPS officer Neeraj Thakur has been shifted from the post of Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic Division) to Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order Division Zone-II.
Senior IPS officer Devesh Chandra Srivastava, a 1995-batch officer serving as Special CP (Crime) with additional charge of the Perception Management and Media Cell Division, has been posted as Special CP, Law and Order Division Zone-I. Another 1995-batch IPS officer, Lalrinsanga David, will continue in Operations (PCR and Communication) with additional responsibilities of SPUWAC and SPUNER.
Manish Kumar Agarwal, a 1996-batch officer who was handling the Intelligence Division along with the Public Transport Safety Division, has been appointed as Special CP of the Traffic Division.
Ajay Chaudhry, previously posted in the Vigilance Division with additional charge of SPUWAC, has been transferred as Special CP, Protective Security Division.
IPS officer Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, who recently arrived in Delhi, has been appointed as Special CP (Crime) with additional charge of the Perception Management, Media Cell and Legal Division.
Further, Atul Katiyar has been shifted from the Welfare Division to the Vigilance Division with additional charge of the Welfare and Licensing Division. Vijay Kumar, serving as Special CP, Armed Police, will continue in the same role with added responsibility of the Public Transport Safety Division. K. Jegadesan has been moved from the Protective Security Division to the Intelligence Division with additional charge of MD/DPHC.
The transfer order was signed by Principal Secretary (Home) Santosh D. Vaidya and copies were forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Delhi Police Commissioner, the Chief Minister's Office and other concerned authorities for immediate implementation. The notification was issued on May 13, 2026.
