New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- A new Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus service connecting the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) headquarters at Dr S.P.M. Civic Centre with Bakner Village was flagged off by MCD Leader of the
House Jai Bhagwan Yadav and Standing Committee chairperson Satya Sharma.
The new service, operating under Route No. 131, is aimed at improving public transport connectivity for residents and daily commuters along the corridor.
According to the MCD, buses will leave Bakner Village for the MCD headquarters at 8 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. The return services from the Civic Centre will operate at 5.45 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. The route will pass through Rajghat, ISBT, Mukarba Chowk and Shani Mandir before reaching Bakner Village.
Yadav said the service would benefit students, women, senior citizens, government employees and other daily commuters by improving access to public transport. He also thanked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for facilitating the launch.
Sharma said strengthening public transport could help reduce dependence on private vehicles and ease congestion.
Vice-chairman of the Narela Ward Committee Dinesh Bhardwaj, councillor Rajpal Rana and other officials were present at the flag-off ceremony.
