New Delhi, Oct. 25 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organised its 46th consecutive Sunday plantation drive under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign at Lodhi Colony on Sunday, with Vice-Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal also interacting with residents on civic issues. The drive was held at the Central Government Employees' C-3 Type-II residential flats, where residents and RWA representatives planted saplings in the name of their mothers and pledged to nurture them. Chahal said the initiative had helped raise awareness about environmental protection and encouraged greater public participation. He emphasised that planting saplings must be accompanied by regular watering and protection to ensure their survival and growth.
