New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning to organise a Tiranga Yatra through Connaught Place with around 5,000 students from its Atal Adarsh and Navyug schools as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign next week, officials said. The council has begun preparations for this year's event by floating a tender to procure over 30,000 national flags and tricolour stickers, they said. The annual march, which starts from the Janpath Radial Circle and passes through the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, sees thousands of students carrying the Tricolour in a display of patriotic fervour, officials said. According to the tender, NDMC plans to procure around 30,450 national flags, 30,000 bamboo sticks and 9,000 tricolour-themed stickers for use during the celebrations and related outreach programmes. The work, estimated at Rs 29.62 lakh, is to be completed within 15 days. The Yatra is likely to be attended by several ministers and senior officials, they added.
