New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Wednesday launched three initiatives aimed at making civic services more accessible, transparent and accountable, including fully online birth and death registration, a digital platform for pet services and the adoption of 346 public toilets by senior officers and council members.

NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said the initiatives combine technology and field-level monitoring to improve public service delivery. He said the online birth and death registration system will allow citizens to access services such as certificate corrections, inclusion of a child's name, registration of home births and deaths, and delayed registration without routine visits to NDMC offices.

Under the new system, hospitals will electronically transmit birth and death-related information to NDMC, enabling end-to-end paperless processing. The move is expected to reduce paperwork, waiting time and physical visits while improving transparency and efficiency.

NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal said the initiatives reflected the focus on citizen-centric governance and technology-enabled public services.

The civic body also launched a comprehensive online pet services platform through its government veterinary hospital. NDMC to digitise pet services and intensify monitoring of 346 public toilets for cleanliness, sanitation and essential amenities.
