New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Thursday issued notices to 10 households at the Central Government Employees' Residential Complex on BKS Marg for handing over unsegregated municipal solid waste during an inspection conducted as part of its four-way waste segregation drive.
The action was taken during an awareness campaign aimed at promoting segregation at source and developing more Anupam Colonies across the NDMC area. Officials randomly inspected waste collected by private waste pickers deployed by the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) and waste collection tippers. The complex has 135 flats, of which 75 are currently occupied. Residents have been directed to segregate waste into four categories wet, dry, sanitary and special-care waste before handing it over to authorised collectors.
