Kolkata, Oct. 8 -- The counting of votes for the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly bypolls will begin at 8 am on Friday, with the Election Commission (EC) putting in place three-tier security arrangements at the counting centres.

In Nandigram, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari vacated the seat as he retained the Bhowanipore seat.

Similarly, the Rejinagar seat was won by Humayun Kabir, but he retained the Naoda seat, for which the bypoll was held.

There will be 15 rounds of counting for both the seats. No one other than the Observer, RO and ARO is allowed to carry mobile phones. Only the candidate and his agents are allowed inside the

counting centre.
