India, Aug. 8 -- The Gurugram Police has arrested 13 persons for allegedly barging into a farmhouse here, assaulting its caretaker and his family, vandalising the property and illegally occupying it, an official said on Friday. Three air conditioners, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a lawn mower, and various other articles allegedly stolen from the farmhouse have been recovered by police. According to police, more than 50 people arrived in trucks, tractors and cars and forcibly entered the farmhouse located in Mahenderwara village here on Wednesday night. Subsequently, the accused allegedly assaulted the property's caretaker and his family, threatened to kill them, attempted to outrage modesty of women present, and vandalised the caretaker's quarters. According to a complaint by the farmhouse owner, the accused also illegally occupied the property. Following a complaint by the farmhouse owner, an FIR was registered at Bhondsi police station and 13 persons were arrested from the farmhouse on Thursday, where they were allegedly occupying the property, police said. During interrogation, the accused revealed they had carried out the act on the instructions of one Vipin, a Gurugram-based property dealer, a police spokesperson said. The accused allegedly reached the farmhouse in tractors, trucks and other vehicles, assaulted the caretaker, his family and even their pet dog, vandalised the property, stole various articles and loaded them onto a tractor, the spokesperson said. The stolen property was recovered from the residence and office of the prime accused Vipin in Dev Nagar Part-2 area, police said, adding that he is absconding and efforts are underway to trace him, besides others involved in the case.
