Kolkata, Sept. 15 -- Finance minister and newly appointed IISWBM Board of Governors president Swapan Dasgupta said the institute will seek to bring Kolkata-rooted academics teaching and researching at global business schools as visiting faculty.
He also stressed greater industry participation in teaching and a stronger business orientation.
Dasgupta, who took charge on Tuesday, said he was not seeking wholesale curriculum changes but wanted courses aligned with future challenges.
He said IISWBM could help meet the demand for skilled manpower if business and industry returned to Bengal.
While acknowledging its social welfare component, Dasgupta said the institute should not be treated as a charitable institution but as a business school.
