New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Thursday ordered officials to fix accountability for waterlogging incidents in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area, warning that negligence leading to a recurrence would invite action against those responsible. Singh chaired a review meeting at the NDMC Conference Hall to assess the waterlogging reported across parts of the New Delhi area following heavy rainfall in the national capital. Senior officials, including chief engineers and heads of departments concerned, attended the meeting.
The minister directed officials to strengthen the civic body's preparedness and ensure that complaints of waterlogging are addressed without delay during spells of
heavy rain.
Officials were also asked to identify shortcomings in the existing response mechanism and take corrective measures to prevent repeated disruption.
