Malda, July 1 -- North Bengal Development minister Udayan Guha laid the foundation stone for several key road and infrastructure projects across Chanchal-I and Harishchandrapur blocks in Malda district, with a total investment of Rs 30 crore.

In Chanchal-I Block, projects include the construction of a 1.803-km-long CC road from Khanpur Hulashpur Kabarsthan to Parashurampur Bandh via Gargra Culvert in Motiharpur GP and a 2.2-km road from Dangi Sattrai to Baragachiya Bot-Tola in Boroi GP. Additionally, a 1.65-km CC road from Kaligram Sitalabari to Panpara Brick Vata Mandir in Kaligram GP has been taken up.

In Harishchandrapur, Guha announced foundation works for a CC road from Farukmore to Viewapara (1.4 km) and from Sadlichak High School to Khoka More (1.8 km), among others. A new classroom block at Harishchandrapur College is also being constructed.

"These road projects are a commitment to rural connectivity and local development," said Guha. "Our government is determined to ensure every village is better connected."
