India, Aug. 12 -- Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday accused Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary of having a "criminal character" and said it was "meaningless to discuss crime and society" under his rule. Responding to a reporter's question on the alleged rise of criminal incidents in the state, Kishor said, "As long as people like Samrat Choudhary remain the chief minister of Bihar, it is meaningless to discuss crime and society here. If the person sitting at the top post holds a criminal character, how could one expect crimes to stop?" It is for the people to see that if they put the wrong person in power, the outcome would not be desirable. The Jan Suraaj founder had announced on Tuesday that he would ensure private jobs for at least 10,000 youths of his assembly segment in the next two years. "My opponents need not worry about my job claim in Bankipur. They should rather worry about how they would respond when people of their constituencies start demanding jobs on the lines of Bankipur. Harbour no doubt, the promised jobs will be provided to the youth of this assembly segment," the Bankipur MLA said. "Their dog-cat reference ahead of the Bankipur by-election led to their defeat in the assembly segment. If they have the guts, they should say that jobs should not be provided to the youth. Just like Bankipur, Bihar will also be wrested from them if they say so," Kishor said. The Jan Suraaj leaders said he would ensure that "not a single penny is stolen" in works related to the MLA. He announced that by the end of three months from today, no person aged over 60 years would be left deprived of the monthly pension of Rs 1,100 they are entitled to, and eligible families would get the monthly ration without any irregularities. On the question of review of liquor ban law in Bihar, the Jan Suraaj leader said, "We are consistently asserting that the fake liquor ban should be revoked in Bihar. It is being continued only to benefit liquor mafias and corrupt officers. People are not benefiting from the liquor ban; they are rather incurring losses."
