India, June 25 -- In a major step towards promoting Ease of Doing Business and strengthening citizen-centric digital governance, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has integrated the General Trade Licence (GTL) facility with its Property Tax Portal with effect from 23 June 2026. With this integration, traders and business establishments will no longer need to access a separate portal for obtaining a new General Trade Licence or renewing an existing one. The earlier GTL portal has now been discontinued for all fresh licence and renewal-related services. Under the revised mechanism, the General Trade Licence fee will be automatically calculated at 15 percent of the applicable Property Tax. Once the prescribed amount is paid through the Property Tax Portal, the online payment receipt generated by the system will itself serve as the valid General Trade Licence. The initiative is aimed at simplifying regulatory procedures, reducing compliance requirements, and making services more accessible and efficient for Delhi's business community. MCD remains committed to enhancing transparency, improving digital service delivery, and creating a more business-friendly environment in the national capital while encouraging continued feedback and cooperation from citizens and stakeholders.
