India, July 8 -- Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar on Tuesday directed officials to intensify sanitation measures across key areas of South Delhi during an inspection of waste management facilities, drains and ongoing civic projects. The inspection covered dhalaos at Katwaria Sarai and Deer Park, Ber Sarai and the under-construction Convenience Centre at Ekta Camp. Reviewing sanitation, Khirwar ordered intensive deep-cleaning drives, timely lifting of garbage and adequate deployment of manpower and resources. He also directed the establishment of two Fixed Compactor Transfer Stations each at the Katwaria Sarai and Deer Park dhalaos to strengthen waste collection and disposal. With the monsoon underway, the Commissioner instructed engineering and sanitation teams to complete desilting and drain-cleaning works to prevent waterlogging. He also reviewed the Convenience Centre at Ekta Camp, which will provide public toilets, bathing units and laundry facilities, and directed officials to ensure its timely completion while maintaining quality standards. He stressed coordinated action by all departments to deliver visible improvements in civic services.
