India, July 9 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has ordered the merger of 13 schools across three zones, including Karol Bagh, Narela and Shahdara North, with the exercise set to come into effect from the current academic session, according to an official order. The order issued by the MCD Education Department on June 22, stated that administrative approval has been granted for the merger of the identified schools and directed the zonal Deputy Directors of Education (DDEs) and Assistant Directors of Education (ADEs) to complete the merger process and submit compliance reports by July 15. The civic body has further asked zonal officials to submit proposals for the transfer or adjustment of staff, including principals, special educators, school attendants, Paryavaran Sahayaks and chowkidars who may become surplus following the merger.
