India, June 23 -- In an effort to strengthen sanitation services and improve waste management infrastructure in the capital, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi on Monday flagged off 35 vehicles that have been inducted into the sanitation fleet of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) Rohini zone. The induction ceremony was held as part of a series of programmes being organised by the civic body to mark 12 years of the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officials said the initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote cleanliness and advance the objectives of the Swachh Bharat mission. Addressing the gathering, Wahi said maintaining cleanliness and public hygiene remains a priority for the civic administration and added that the MCD is taking multiple steps to strengthen sanitation systems across the city. The new fleet will boost waste collection, with residents urged to segregate waste at source.
