New Delhi, Sept. 30 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) carried out 36 demolition actions across the Capital on Wednesday as part of its ongoing city-wide enforcement drive against unauthorised constructions, dangerous buildings and violations of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) and building bye-laws.
The civic body said two properties were sealed and three demolition orders were issued during the day's exercise, which covered all 12 zones of the Corporation. The action was aimed at enforcing building regulations and addressing structures considered to be in violation of prescribed norms.
Among the locations where major demolition action was taken were Motia Khan, Paharganj, Baljeet Nagar, Ranjeet Nagar, Mukundpur, Shakurpur and Sahyog Apartment. The MCD did not provide details of the nature or extent of violations at individual properties.
The latest action follows an enforcement exercise conducted on Tuesday, during which 33 properties were demolished and 12 were sealed for alleged violations of the MPD and building bye-laws.
The civic body said field officials had been directed to maintain close surveillance across their respective areas and initiate action against violations in accordance with applicable regulations.
The MCD said its enforcement drive would continue against unauthorised constructions and dangerous buildings, as well as other violations that could pose risks to public safety.
