New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Tuesday carried out 29 demolition actions across its 12 zones as part of its ongoing enforcement drive against unauthorised constructions, dangerous buildings and violations of building norms. Seven properties were sealed and five demolition orders were also issued during the exercise, according to the MCD. The action was taken against violations of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD), Building Bye-Laws and other applicable regulations.

Major demolition actions were carried out in Shalimar Bagh, Mayur Kunj, Patparganj, Ambedkar Nagar and Shahdara, among other areas. Field teams were deployed across the city to identify and act against unauthorised constructions and other violations.

The civic body said its enforcement teams were maintaining vigilance across all 12 zones and taking action in accordance with prescribed rules. The exercise is part of the MCD's continuing efforts to address construction violations and buildings considered unsafe.

On Monday, the civic body had carried out 31 demolition actions and sealed seven properties during its enforcement drive. The MCD said unauthorised construction and violations of building norms would ot be permitted within its jurisdiction. Officials have been directed to maintain strict vigilance and initiate action against violations under the applicable provisions. The civic body said the enforcement drive would

continue across Delhi, with a focus on unauthorised constructions, dangerous buildings and other violations that could pose risks to public safety.
