New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Monday carried out 29 demolition actions across all 12 zones as part of its ongoing city-wide enforcement drive against unauthorised constructions, dangerous buildings and violations of building norms.
The civic body also sealed 10 properties and issued seven demolition orders during the day-long exercise, according to a statement issued by the MCD. The action was aimed at enforcing provisions of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD), Building Bye-Laws and other applicable regulations.
The demolition drive covered several parts of the city, including Hari Nagar, Tagore Garden Extension, Vikas Puri, Dabri More, Sitapuri, Regharpura, Dev Nagar, Sharda Puri and Keshavpuram in west and north-west Delhi.
Further action was reported from Kapil Vihar, Shakarpur, Kailash Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Madhu Vihar, West Vinod Nagar and Old Seemapuri. Teams also carried out demolition-related action in Chauhan Banger, Bamnoli, Kadipur, Keshav Nagar and Ibrahimpur, among other locations.
The MCD said enforcement teams were maintaining vigilance across its jurisdiction to identify violations and initiate action in accordance with prescribed rules. Officials have been directed to continue monitoring construction activity and take necessary measures against violations.
The civic body said the enforcement exercise would continue across all 12 zones, with focus on unauthorised constructions, dangerous structures and other building violations that could pose risks to public safety.
The latest action comes amid the MCD's continued enforcement campaign against building norm violations across the Capital.
